Well, I finally had my little 'exhibition' last Wednesday in Warwick (thanks to Sue for setting it all up!). I had to finish off the last of the paintings I needed to do for it on the Tuesday before. See the kind of pressure I put myself under? It was a budgie anyway. Here it is... The show went well and generated a LOT of interest. I hope that the interest turns into orders now! Not too many though as there is only me to do them all... Here I am waiting for the floodgates to open... Some of the paintings I did for the show will be up for sale on the site soon. They include the cougar, the racehorse, the cocker spaniel and the cat. Oh not to forget the budgie. Details will be on the 'for sale' page in a couple of days.
Thanks for looking in. Andy Some photo advice and Lancaster prints on the way...I have added a page with some advice about the pictures I need to work with. You would not believe what I get given!
Also I have added a for sale page. On here I will offer original paintings and also limited edition prints of certain subjects. The first will be "The Wednesfield Lancaster" Signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Sue has got me a space at National Grid Headquarters in September on their Market Street (yes, they have their own little shopping area). I've got hold of some proper exhibition boards and a collapsible table. I've also had some A5 leaflets printed... All this means I've got to speed up the production line to get more pictures done...American Cocker Spaniel and then next one up will be a tabby cat... Photo of picture is a bit crap but hey ho
More soon Hello all. To try to drum up more business I've decided to put together a portable 'show area' that I can take to events like dog shows, county shows and craft fairs etc. Trouble is all my original paintings are with the customers that commissioned them. I obviously can't go knocking doors every couple of weeks asking for it back for a bit. I always photograph my pictures but the results are not always the best. Some I have managed to blow up to A3 and laminated but only a few. This means I have got to paint a few just for my 'portfolio'. The first one was the Cougar. Not a pet but still an animal. Just a bit of variety for me. (here is some advice; if you search google for some reference pictures put 'mountain lion' not 'cougar'!!) I have put up my new site. It is not yet finished as I have to finalise and incorporate client payment
methods but the gist is there. Hurrah |
Andy GouldI will update this blog now and again with any work in progress and, if there is any interest I will explain some of my techniques. CategoriesArchives
